Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator
Candidate is an assertive, decisive action-taker who provides leadership and support to the facility in the area of Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental. The HSE Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and direction of the facility's Occupational HSE Program and will continually strive to support the company's goals to provide and safe and healthy workplace to all of its employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and coaching related to all safety and health matters to the facility's management team with emphasis placed on front line supervision
Assertively manage post-incident matters including incident investigations, post incident action items, Worker's Compensation claims and Early and Safe Return to Work initiatives.
Conduct various types of periodic inspections and audits of the facility, departments and specific equipment/positions in order to identify unsafe hazards and/or conditions. Converse daily with shop TMs regarding safe work practices and hazard identification.
Make recommendations and facilitate the implementation of effective measures to eliminate or significantly reduce hazards to an acceptable level throughout the facility.
Facilitate and attend monthly Safety Committee meetings, providing guidance and expertise on safety and health matters. Ensure that all action items resulting from meetings are followed through to completion.
Facilitate and attend monthly management plant audits, providing guidance, coaching and direction to plant management on relevant safety auditing fundamentals.
Continually develop and facilitate various training programs including, but not limited to, orientation, mobile equipment, crane, material handling, hazcom, plant emergency action plans as well as several others as required.
Develop and regularly maintain comprehensive JSAs / JHAs for all Job tasks throughout the facility.
Maintain detailed documentation pertaining to all safety, health and environmental matters including incident reports, risk assessments, workers compensation documentation, OSHA 300 logs and other documentation as required.
Provide / attend progress updates to the Corporate HSE Manager through various methods including SMS, conference calls, email reports, and other methods of communication
Provide assistance in safety related matters at all Skyline Steel, LLC facilities as required
Remain informed on new legislation and regulations and ensures safety & environmental compliance as required.
Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of programs that will ensure plant environmental compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and permits
Coordinate Federal, state and local reporting and documentation requirements concerning permitting, SARA reporting, air emissions, and water permitting.
Oversee environmental operations to ensure regulatory compliance and permit renewals.
Coordinate and verify the work progress as per the relevant specifications and company's environmental systems.
Make certain that documents and records are filed in accordance with applicable regulations.
Overview and coordinate environmental operations in order to ensure permit renewals and regulatory compliance.
Inspect the site for environmental compliances.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree and 2 plus years experience, manufacturing or safety experience is a plus
Exceptional project management skills.
Training program facilitation and management.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with all levels of employees
Strong organizational skills
Ability to maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive documents and personnel information
Experience using Excel, Powerpoint, Word and general technological savviness is required.
Workers Compensation Claim's Management experience and knowledge of OSHA is a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
